PPA Raises Money for Breast Cancer Awareness
Philadelphia is painting the town pink this month and we’re not alone! October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and pink is the campaign’s signature color. It can be seen on everything from LeSean McCoy’s gloves to the neon lights on the Cira Center– even the color of the fountain water at Love Park is pink this month!
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Whether it is a friend, family member, coworker or neighbor, it’s likely that you know someone who has been touched by the devastating effects of breast cancer.
The good news is that with early detection, breast cancer has a 96% survival rate. This year, our employees are raising money and awareness. We’ll be “Thinking Pink” on October 25th at our headquarters at 701 Market Street, by dressing in hues of coral and fuchsia. Our employees who have special baking talents will be encouraged to bring in their scrumptious specialties to sell at a bake sale and we will also announce the winners of a special raffle. All of the money raised will be donated to “Susan G. Komen For The Cure.”
