Kiosk Credit Card Transactions Temporarily Not Accepted
Due to a temporary problem with wireless transmission of credit card payments at Philadelphia Parking Authority kiosks, PPA Executive Director Vince Fenerty advised motorists that they will be required to pay for parking at kiosks with either cash, coins, or the PPA’s phone app “MeterUp.”
Fenerty further advised that “there will be a fifteen minute grace period from the time a ticket is issued for customers to get cash to pay the kiosk. Any customer ticketed within the fifteen minute grace period should contact PPA customer service at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the City’s Parking Violations Branch at 1-888-591-3636. They will be given instructions on how to submit the original kiosk receipt to document their payment.
“We want to apologize for any inconvenience caused by our inability to accept credit card payments. Be assured the PPA and the responsible vendors are working diligently to correct what appears to be a glitch in the data transmission process,” Fenerty said.
“We hope to have the problem resolved soon and will notify the public on the PPA’s website at www.philapark.org and via Facebook and Twitter when that occurs, but citizens who utilize kiosks will be required to pay with cash or via “meterUP,” Fenerty said.
