Answers to the FAQs about the Parking Authority
1. How can I pay my parking ticket?
Payment must be received by the Parking Violations Branch within fifteen (15) calendar days of when the ticket is issued. You will be responsible for payment of all penalties if fine payment is received after fifteen calendar days.

2. What if I don't agree with my parking ticket?
If you desire a hearing to contest a parking ticket, you must request it in writing. If you request a hearing within fifteen days, late payment penalties will not be added to your original fine. All hearings requested after fifteen calendar days will have penalties assessed and due if you are found liable.

3. What rights do I have?
When you contest a parking ticket, you have the following rights:
- To be represented by a lawyer or other representative;
- To appear and testify if you choose;
- To present evidence, including pictures, tow receipts, etc, or witnesses; and
- To appeal a decision against you.

4. I need to reschedule my hearing.
You can reschedule over the phone twice. Your third reschedule request must be made in writing. Your request will be reviewed and approved or denied by a Parking Violations Bureau Supervisor.

5. What if I believe my parking meter was defective?

6. What if I don't respond to my parking ticket?
Failure to answer or appear on a parking violation shall be considered an admission of liability. Failure to pay the amount due may result in civil action, including impoundment of your vehicle.
