Attention all members of Philadelphia's Taxicab and Limousine Industries and
the Riding Public:
As the SEPTA strike has ended early this morning, November 9, 2009 with transit
service resuming for this morning's
business day commute, the Orders authorizing Alternative Taxicab Service issued
on 10/30/09 and on 11/5/09 have
expired. All Philadelphia Parking Authority and Public Utility Commission regulated
transportation service providers are
expected to resume the normal service operations for which they were certified.
Thank you to all service providers who cooperated with the provisions of these
Emergency Orders. The Taxicab and
Limousine Division would welcome any comments Industry members or members of
the riding public might have as to
the efficacy of the provisions of the Orders in expanding service during the
transit emergency. You may direct your
